LION is a BPOC grassroots collective getting land through reparations

Our work addresses the inequalities in access to land and food, and reimagines land stewardship towards climate and racial justice.

Land for Black and People of Colour

At the heart of our mission, we are working towards getting collective ownership of land where Black and People of Colour can connect to the soil, heal and organise towards a racially just world. We envision a land project where we grow and share delicious food, rest, learn new skills, and strengthen community resilience and organising.

Towards Land Reparations

LION works for land justice through reparations. This means redistributing resources to Black and People of Colour, and creating spaces for BPOC to heal and repair the intergenerational traumas of land dispossession and extraction.

Building ecosystems

LION functions as an ecosystem builder, creating opportunities for Black and People of Colour to connect with the land, with nature and with each other.

Liberation Through Land and Racial Justice

We are taking back stewardship of the land as the basis for revolution and sovereignty in our communities. Fostering a relationship with the land beyond the dynamics of extraction, we affirm our right to grow and live in right relationship with the earth.
